DES MOINES, Iowa — A Des Moines mother charged months after her child died when she suffocated on a changing table pleaded guilty in court Tuesday. The incident happened in September of 2016 in the 800 block of East Lacona Avenue. Laci Lynn Taylor, 26, was charged with child endangerment resulting in death. Taylor agreed to a plea deal Tuesday, pleading guilty to felony neglect of a dependent person. The judge accepted the plea, and Taylor is scheduled to face sentencing August 3.The plea deal means Taylor faces a sentence of no more than 10 years in prison.According to court documents, Taylor left the child unattended on a changing table.While she was out of the room, the child rolled over, and as a result, her neck was compressed on… Next »
